IMG_6232As of this last week, my husband has been eating vegan, and my daughter has been raw until dinner!

It’s pretty exciting to see changes happening.

I haven’t pushed or preached.  When they have asked questions or complained about ailments, I sometimes mentioned things I’ve read, or shared my experiences.  But I’ve waited for them to be ready.

I’ve gone about my own healthy improvements, and let them live their own lives and make their own choices.

And now!  Voila!  Great things are happening!

They know what health improvements I’ve been seeing:

Gone:
~ Asthma
~ Allergies
~ Constipation and digestive problems (heartburn, acid reflux, bloat, gas, etc.)
~ Dry skin
~ Arthritis

Improvements:
~ Hormones evening out
~ Teeth sensitivities
~ Weight loss
~ No longer burn in the sun
~ No longer get mosquito bites (alkaline instead of acid body now)

…and probably more that I’m forgetting right now!

And they have each joined in, in their own ways!  It’s super exciting to watch and enjoy!  Yay for the fruity family!  Yay for our health and life and vitality!

❄ Raw Hot Peppermint Chocolate!!! ❄ My new daily winter drink! ❄

What an AMAZING WAY to get 1400 calories, a LOT of calories in for the day! Woo!

I’m in “chocolate” Heaven!

Ingredients:

❄ 20 dates
❄ Hot or warm water (whatever you are comfortable with)
❄ 2 Tblsp of carob powder
❄ 1/2 tsp of raw vanilla powder
❄ Peppermint herbal tea bag (organic if possible)

Blend them all together (except for the tea bag) on your smoothie setting of your Vitamix.

Add the tea bag. And enjoy the tasty awesome warm up!

We are dealing with another Chicago Weather Vortex (see picture below)! It’s zero degrees here! Brrrrr!!! I’m dreaming of the tropics, and wanted something warm, desperately!!!

Do You Want a Lightening Fast Digestion and Metabolism?

Be aware and grow in your awareness of good food combining.

It can truly make a difference in your digestion, and therefore your ability to lose weight if you are looking to do so.  You want a healthy moving digestive track with everything flowing freely, not getting stuck.

The first basic step is to eat fruit alone.  It is best in the morning.  It digests very quickly, and will catch up to other things you have eaten.  (Then it can cause fermentation, gas, bloating, and other fun stuff!)  Thus, keeping it first in the morning is best!  (Unless you eat it all day – like me, but I eat it alone or mixed with tender greens.)

Even fruit needs to be combined properly.  There are several types of fruits.

Mango Lime Fiesta Dressing!!!

Another goodie!

Ingredients:

~ Frozen mango (can’t find fresh right now)
~ Yellow Lime – 1/4 to 1/2 (yellow = ripe, just learned this, and I’m a believer now!)
~ Basil – 2-3 large leaves
~ Guacamole – 1 packet (I buy the little packets from Costco)

Blend all ingredients in the Vitamix with about 1/2 cup of water to help it blend nicely.

It’s soooo super delicious!

This made enough for two large salads!

Luggage Returned! and the Waitress Made Me Write My OWN Order!

Yay!  We have luggage now for the rest of our trip!

We saw random roosters, beautiful waters, and found great food to eat!

I got the BEST salad, but the waitress made me write down my own order, because it was too complicated for her! 🙂

Eating Raw Vegan During Crazy Travel Day!!!

What was supposed to be a 4 hour day of travel turned into over 12 hours!

“Go to Gate D19,”
“No we have NOOOO pilots, go back to B14,”
“This flight’s cancelled, go back to D19.”
“Wanna go to Miami? (instead of Key West – where our reservations were)

Thankfully, we had great attitudes and were still laughing through all of this!  The Gate attendants loved us and our happiness (fruitiness? joy of the Lord?) and got us out of Atlanta, where we were stuck.

They sent us to Miami, where we could rent a car and drive the rest of the way to Key West!  Without our luggage, we arrived at almost midnight.

So happy to see beds and our very own bathroom!  Ahhhhh!
